Sayyiduna al-Dahhak bin Abi Jabirah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: In the time of Jahiliyyah they had bad names. Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called a man by his nickname (that is, a bad name), and it was said: "O Messenger of Allah! This man dislikes this (name)."
