Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say about this verse, (Allah Almighty says:) "Allah keeps firm those who believe with the firm word in the life of this world and in the Hereafter." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hereafter here means the grave."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Atiyyah al-Awfi, and he is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty, (Allah Almighty says:) "Allah keeps firm those who believe with the firm word in the life of this world and in the Hereafter." Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When a believer dies, he is made to sit up in his grave and is asked: "Who is your Lord?" He replies: "Allah Almighty is my Lord." He is asked: "Who is your Prophet?" He replies: "Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Abdullah." These questions are put to him three times.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. He recorded it from his teacher Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Sadaqah, and I do not know him; the remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Hadiths about the questioning in the grave have already passed in the chapter on funerals.
