The saying of Allah the Exalted: "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together"

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, (Allah Almighty says:) "Hold fast, all of you, to the rope of Allah." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: It means the Qur'an.

In one narration the words are: He said: The rope of Allah means the Jama'ah (the united community). The narrators of the first narration are the narrators of the Sahih, and the second narration is munqati' (disconnected) in its chain.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: This path is present before you, and devils are present on it, saying: "O servants of Allah! Come to this way!" So hold fast to the rope of Allah, for the straight path is the Book of Allah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his shaykh Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).
