Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, (Allah Almighty says:) "Fear Allah Almighty as He ought to be feared." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: It means that He be obeyed in such a way that He is not disobeyed, that He be thanked in such a way that He is not met with ingratitude, and that He be remembered in such a way that He is not forgotten.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih, and the narrators of the other are da'if (weak).
