Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No prescribed punishment (hadd) is due on a slave woman until she becomes muhsan. When she becomes muhsan through marriage, she will be given half the punishment of (free) muhsan women."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abdullah bin Imran, who is in any case thiqah (trustworthy).

Ibrahim narrates: Ma'qil bin Muqarrin al-Muzani came to Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said that his slave girl had committed adultery. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Give her fifty lashes." He said: "This slave girl has no husband." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Her Islam is her ihsan (protected status)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator Ibrahim did not meet Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
