Amr bin Shurahbil bin Sa'id bin Sa'd bin Ubadah reports from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sa'd is protectively jealous, I am more protectively jealous than him, and Allah Almighty is more protectively jealous than me." A man asked: "Over what is Allah Almighty jealous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Over a mujahid who is striving in the way of Allah, and in whose absence (an attempt is made to do evil) with his wife."
Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith, which concerns the tafsir of Surah al-Nur. Its chain contains Abu Ma'shar Najih, who is da'if (weak).
