Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Mu'adh, that Allah Almighty should guide through you a single person from among the polytheists is better for you than that you should have red camels."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that Duwayd bin Nafi' did not meet Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him). Some hadith of this kind have already passed earlier in the Book of Faith.

In one narration the wording is: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to Yemen and tied a banner for him. When he had gone, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Rafi', go after him and catch up with him; do not call him from behind, and let him stop and not turn around until I come to him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to him and instructed him regarding certain matters. After this the narrator mentioned the hadith as before.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both); al-Mizzi mentioned him among those who narrate from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat. The remaining narrators of the first route are thiqat (trustworthy).
