Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9713

Sayyiduna Abbad bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent out an expedition, and some Bedouins were seized and brought. One of them claimed to be a Muslim, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who will testify for you?" He replied: "Abbad." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Abbad, did you hear him?" He replied: "Yes. I heard him testify that there is no god but Allah." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared them free.
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator who is not named. The account of Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the Battle of Badr will come later.
