Sayyiduna Abu al-Tufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled, then he said: "Will you not ask me what I smiled at?" The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, what did you smile at?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw some people being led to Paradise in chains." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are they?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are people whom the Muhajirun took captive, and then they brought them into Islam."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it, though al-Tabarani's wording is: "A people from the non-Arabs whom they took captive." Its chain contains a narrator, Bishr bin Sahl; Abu Hatim wrote down narrations from him and then struck out his hadith. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
