Sayyiduna Abu Humayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you proposes marriage to a woman, there is no sin on him if he looks at her, provided he is looking at her only for the sake of the proposal, even if she does not know."
Ahmad recorded it, except that the narrator Zuhayr was in doubt whether
it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Humayd (may Allah be pleased with him) or from Sayyiduna Abu Humaydah (may Allah be pleased with him); al-Bazzar recorded it without any doubt, and at-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyidah Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Sayyidah Umm Habibah bint al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with her), who was a little past weaning age, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If this little daughter of Abbas reaches maturity while I am alive, I will certainly marry her."
Ahmad and at-Tabarani recorded it, and he added these words: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away before she reached maturity, so al-Aswad bin Abdullah married her, and she bore him Rizq bin al-Aswad and Lubabah bint al-Aswad; Sayyidah Umm al-Fadl (may Allah be pleased with her) named that girl after her own name (Lubabah)."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; the chain of both contains al-Husayn bin Abdullah bin Abbas, who is matruk (abandoned), though Yahya bin Ma'in declared him trustworthy in one report.

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he proposed marriage to a woman in Makkah while he was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: If only someone would see this woman and tell me about her. A man named Hit said: I will describe her to you: when she comes forward, you would say she walks with six folds, and when she turns away, you would say she walks with four folds. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I consider this objectionable, and I think this man is acquainted with the affairs of women." That man used to visit Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from visiting Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) thereafter. When he came to Madinah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had him exiled, and his situation remained so until, in the time of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he was stricken by hunger, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) permitted him to come into Madinah on Fridays and to be given charity.
Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Abd al-Karim Abu Umayyah, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ali! You have a treasure in Paradise, and you are its 'Dhu al-Qarnayn'. Do not follow one glance with another, for only the first (glance) is permitted to you."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and at-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, who added these words: "The second (glance) is not permitted to you." The narrators of at-Tabarani are thiqat (trustworthy).
