Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a man who has an unlawful relationship with a woman: may he marry that woman's mother? Or a man who has an unlawful relationship with a mother: may he marry her daughter? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is unlawful does not make the lawful unlawful; prohibition is established only by what comes through a lawful marriage."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Uthman bin Abd al-Rahman al-Zuhri, who is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) state: "The two of them remain fornicators for as long as they stay together."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Al-Sha'bi did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, and he did hear from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). He has
also recorded this narration with an authentic (sahih) chain from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).

Ibn Sirin states: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about a man who commits fornication with a woman: may he then marry her? He said: "For as long as the two of them stay together, they will be counted as fornicators." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked: "What is your view if the two of them repent and reform?" He said: (Allah Almighty says:) "And He it is Who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons sins, and He knows what you do." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) kept repeating this verse, until we thought that he saw no harm in it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Ibn Sirin did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy) and are the narrators of the Sahih. He has also recorded it with a connected chain, which contains Abu Janab, who is da'if (weak) because of his tadlis, and he
reported this narration with "an'anah" (using "from").
