بَابٌ فِي الَّذِي يَعْتِقُ أَمَتَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَتَزَوَّجْهَا .

عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَعْتِقُ سُرِّيَّتَهُ ، ثُمَّ يَنْكِحُهَا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي أَهْدَى بَدَنَةً ، ثُمَّ رَكِبَهَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The example of a man who frees his slave woman and then marries her is like that of a man who sends a camel as a sacrificial animal and then rides it.

وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَرْبَعَةٌ يُؤْتَوْنَ أَجْرَهُمْ مَرَّتَيْنِ : أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَرَجُلٌ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ أَمَةٌ فَأَعْجَبَتْهُ فَأَعْتَقَهَا ، ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَهَا ، وَعَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ أَدَّى حَقَّ اللَّهِ وَحَقَّ سَادَتِهِ " .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Four people will be given their reward twice: the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); a person from the People of the Book who becomes Muslim; a man who has a slave woman whom he likes, and he frees her and then marries her; and a slave who is owned by someone and fulfils the right of Allah Almighty and the right of his master."
