Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take black (slaves), for three of them are among the leaders of the people of Paradise: Luqman the Wise, the Negus, and Sayyiduna Bilal the Mu'adhdhin (may Allah be pleased with him)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the Abyssinians. Its chain contains Abyan bin Sufyan, who is da'if (weak).

Umayr narrates: Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of being a Companion, said to me: O my son, when you come to own the price of a slave, buy a slave with it, for provision lies in the forelocks of men.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, who is da'if (weak).
