Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One religious community does not inherit from another religious community."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Rashid, who is da'if (weak) according to the majority, while al-Ijli declared him thiqah (trustworthy).

Al-Hasan mentioned on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): He was asked: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mention this? He said: Yes, he said: We will not inherit from the People of the Book, and they will not inherit from us, except that a man may inherit from his (People of the Book) slave or slave-woman. We may marry their women, but they may not marry our women.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Aqil and Talib inherited from Abu Talib, while Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did not inherit from him. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is for this reason that we gave up our share of "Shi'b Abi Talib".
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ali bin al-Husayn al-Lali, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
