Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. It is not permissible for a Muslim to conceal from his brother (any defect) in his merchandise which, if that brother came to know of it, he would leave it."
Ahmad recorded it, and these are his words.

Al-Tabarani recorded in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you sells some merchandise, let him not conceal a defect if there is one in it." The chains of both narrations contain a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah; he has been criticised, and his hadith is hasan (fair). The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
