Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "With my own hands I gave the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) water to drink from 'Bi'r Buda'ah' (the well called Buda'ah)."
Ahmad recorded it, and Abu Ya'la also (recorded it), except that his wording is: "We, along with some women, came to Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: 'If I were to give you water to drink from Bi'r Buda'ah, you would dislike it'"; the rest of the hadith is similar.
Al-Tabarani also recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went down into the well of Buda'ah and put his saliva into it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Muhaymin bin Abbas bin Sahl, who is da'if (weak).

Malik bin Hamzah bin Abi Usayd al-Sa'idi al-Khazraji narrates from his father, from his grandfather Sayyiduna Abu Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him): He had a well in Madinah called Bi'r Buda'ah, into which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had put his saliva, and they used to give glad tidings by it and seek blessing through it.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This narration will come in full in the chapter on Tafsir, in the Tafsir of Surah al-Baqarah, if Allah wills.
