Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: In the Mosque of al-Fadikh, it was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (the narrator says: that is, fadikh, a date drink, was brought), and he drank it. For this reason that mosque was named (al-Fadikh).
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it; however, in his version the words are: "A jar of fadikh that was bubbling (fermenting) was brought while he was in the Mosque of al-Fadikh, and he drank it; for this reason that mosque was named 'the Mosque of al-Fadikh.'" Its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Nafi', whom the majority declared da'if (weak); according to one view, his hadith may be written down.
