عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : مَا زِلْنَا نَسْمَعُ إِسَافَ وَنَائِلَةَ - رَجُلٌ ، وَامْرَأَةٌ مَنْ جُرْهُمٍ - زَنَيَا فِي الْكَعْبَةِ فَمُسِخَا حَجَرَيْنِ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: We have always been hearing that Isaf and Na'ilah were a man and a woman from Jurhum; the two of them committed fornication inside the Ka'bah, so they were transformed into stones.

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " كَانَ إِسَافُ وَنَائِلَةُ - رَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَةٌ - زَنَيَا فِي الْكَعْبَةِ فَمَسَخَهُمَا اللَّهُ حَجَرَيْنِ " ، فَكَانَا بِمَكَّةَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعُمَرِيُّ ، وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) transmits this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Isaf and Na'ilah were a man and a woman; the two of them committed fornication inside the Ka'bah, so Allah Almighty transformed both of them into stones." The two of them (that is, their idols) were in Makkah.

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ بِنَفَرٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ بِفِنَاءَ الْكَعْبَةِ فَقَالَ : " انْظُرُوا مَا تَعْمَلُونَ فِيهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَسْئُولَةٌ عَنْكُمْ فَتُخْبِرُ عَنْكُمْ ، وَعَنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ ، وَاذْكُرُوا أَنَّ سَاكِنَهَا مَنْ لَا يَأْكُلُ الرِّبَا ، وَلَا يَمْشِي بِالنَّمِيمَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ مُدَلِّسٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people of Quraysh who were sitting in the courtyard of the Ka'bah. He said: "Be mindful of what you do here, for it (that is, the Ka'bah) will be questioned about you, and it will give information about you and about your deeds. And remember that the one who dwells in it (Makkah) is the one who does not consume usury (riba) and does not go about spreading tales."
