Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It was named al-Bayt al-Atiq (the Ancient/Freed House) because it has been freed from the tyrants; no tyrant will ever reach it (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) no tyrant will ever be able to overpower it."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Abdullah bin Salih, the scribe of al-Layth. It has been said that he is thiqah (trustworthy) and reliable, but the imams, namely Ahmad and others, declared him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
