Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people of Quraysh who were sitting in the courtyard of the Ka'bah. He said: "Be mindful of what you do here, for it (that is, the Ka'bah) will be questioned about you, and it will give information about you and about your deeds. And remember that the one who dwells in it (Makkah) is the one who does not consume usury (riba) and does not go about spreading tales."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who commits tadlis).
