Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Because of the pain of a vein in the side, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) could not go out to the people for a month. I used to see him in distress, until I would take hold of his hand, then recite the Qur'an and blow over it, and then pass his blessed hand over his face. Through this I sought the blessing of the Qur'an and the blessing of the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I would plead: "O Messenger of Allah! Your supplication is answered, so supplicate to Allah Almighty that Allah Almighty remove the condition you are suffering from." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah! I am the one who is put through the most severe trial."
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Ishaq, who is a mudallis (one who commits tadlis). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was struck by pain, and in that pain he kept complaining and turning over on his bed. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "If one of us had done this, you would have been displeased with him." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hardship is made severe upon the righteous. And no affliction befalls a believer, whether it is the prick of a thorn or even less than that, except that because of it his sins are removed and because of it his rank is raised."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Abu Ubaydah bin Hudhayfah narrates from his paternal aunt Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: We, some women, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit him in his illness. A waterskin had been hung near him, from which drops of water were dripping onto him, (to relieve) the heat of fever he was feeling. We said: "O Messenger of Allah! If you were to supplicate to Allah Almighty, He would grant you cure." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among people, the ones who face the most severe trial are the Prophets, then after them those who come next to them (the more righteous people), then after that those who come next to them, then after that those who come next to them (that is, the more righteous people have to face this)."
Ahmad recorded it. Tabarani recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in it he recorded these words: "We, the company of Prophets, have to face a doubled trial." The chain of Ahmad is hasan (good).
