Sayyiduna al-Zubayr narrates: We used to offer the Friday prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then when we went back we would try to get into the shade, but we would find no shade except a space just enough to shade our feet. In one narration the words are: We found no shade except the place of our feet (which was shaded).
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded something similar; its chain contains a man who is not named.

It is reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); the narrator says: Once, on a Friday, we were with him in the mosque of Kufah. Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir was the governor of Kufah, appointed by Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was in charge of the public treasury (bayt al-mal). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) looked at the shadow and saw that it had become the length of a sandal strap, so he said: "If this (governor) of yours follows the Sunnah of your Prophet, he will come out now (for the Friday prayer)." The narrator says: By Allah, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) had not yet finished speaking when Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir came out, saying: "The prayer!"
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a man who is not named.
