Sayyiduna Amir bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Let those of you who are mature and possess understanding be close to me, then those who come after them in rank, then those who come after them in rank."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Asim bin Abdullah al-Umari; most scholars declared him da'if (weak), and there is disagreement as to whether he can be used as evidence.

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order the Muhajirun to come forward and be in the front rows, and he would say: "They have more knowledge than the ignorant and the Bedouins, and I do not like the Bedouins, who do not even know how to pray, to stand in front of them."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir) recorded it, and its chain is da'if (weak).
