Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The eyes are the tie of the rear passage; when the eyes sleep, the tie is loosened."
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir) recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak) because of his memory deterioration (ikhtilat).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ablution is not obligatory upon one who falls asleep while in prostration, until he lies down, for when he lies down his joints become relaxed."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far al-Jufri, whom al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and others declared da'if (weak). Ibn Adi says: Sound hadith are reported from him, and he does not lie deliberately.

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slept until he (peace and blessings be upon him) began to snore. Afterwards he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ablution is obligatory only upon one who lies down (that is, sleeps lying down)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ja'far bin al-Zubayr, who is a kadhdhab (liar).

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator Abd al-Karim is da'if (weak), and he did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
