Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1288

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slept until he (peace and blessings be upon him) began to snore. Afterwards he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ablution is obligatory only upon one who lies down (that is, sleeps lying down)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ja'far bin al-Zubayr, who is a kadhdhab (liar).
