Humayd narrates: We were with Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "By Allah! Not everything that we (that is, the Companions) narrate to you on the authority of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did we hear (directly) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but none of us would lie to another."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Not every hadith did we hear from the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions would narrate hadith to us on his (peace and blessings be upon him) authority, because we were kept busy tending the camels.
