Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once we were sitting with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) when a funeral passed by. He stood up, so we stood up too. Then we offered the (funeral) prayer, and he took off his shoes. We said: "O successor of the Messenger of Allah! Why have you taken off your shoes, when the other people are wearing theirs?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever walks barefoot in the obedience of Allah Almighty (that is, in an act of obedience), Allah Almighty will not hold him to account on the Day of Resurrection for what He (Allah Almighty) has made obligatory upon him.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and said: Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Mu'awiyah al-Hadhdha' is alone in narrating it. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: I have not seen anyone mention this Muhammad or his teacher Abdullah bin Ibrahim.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are to hasten towards a good deed, go on foot without shoes, for in that case one receives double the reward of the one wearing shoes."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Sulayman bin Isa al-Attar, who is a liar.
