عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - : أَحَبُّ مَا يَعْبُدُنِي بِهِ عَبْدِي إِلَيَّ النُّصْحُ لِي .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَحْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، وَكِلَاهُمَا ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty says: 'Of the ways in which My servant worships Me, the most beloved to Me is sincerity towards Me (i.e. that no partner be ascribed to Me).'"
Imam Ahmad recorded it; its chain mentions that Ubaydullah bin Zahr narrated it from Ali bin Yazid, and both of these narrators are da'if (weak).

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الدِّينُ النَّصِيحَةُ " . قَالُوا : لِمَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَقَالَ : " وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْ " .
قَالَ أَحْمَدُ : عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَقَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ : عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَمُقْتَضَى رِوَايَةِ أَحْمَدَ الِانْقِطَاعُ بَيْنَ عَمْرٍو وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ فِيهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ وَقَدْ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَقَالَ : أَحَادِيثُهُ مَنَاكِيرُ . وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَلَفْظُ أَبِي يَعْلَى : قَالُوا : لِمَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَلِنَبِيِّهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَقَالَ : " وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَعَامَّتِهِمْ " .
قَالَ أَحْمَدُ : عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَقَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ : عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَمُقْتَضَى رِوَايَةِ أَحْمَدَ الِانْقِطَاعُ بَيْنَ عَمْرٍو وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ فِيهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ وَقَدْ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَقَالَ : أَحَادِيثُهُ مَنَاكِيرُ . وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَلَفْظُ أَبِي يَعْلَى : قَالُوا : لِمَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَلِنَبِيِّهِ وَلِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The religion is sincere goodwill (nasihah)." The people asked: "To whom?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To Allah Almighty, to His Messenger, and to the rulers of the believers." Imam Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and he recorded these words: "To the rulers of the Muslims and their common folk."
In its chain Imam Ahmad recorded these words: It is narrated from Amr bin Dinar, who said: The one who heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrating it told me. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril instructed me to show sincere goodwill."

Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The head of the religion (i.e. its basic teaching) is sincere goodwill." The people asked: "O Messenger of Allah! To whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To Allah Almighty, to His religion, to the Muslim rulers, and to the Muslims in general."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ayyub bin Suwayd, who is da'if (weak) and is not taken as evidence.

وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَا يَهْتَمُّ بِأَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَلَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصْبِحْ وَيُمْسِي نَاصِحًا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِكِتَابِهِ وَلِإِمَامِهِ وَلِعَامَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ; فَلَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، ضَعَّفَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ وَأَبُو زُرْعَةَ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، ضَعَّفَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ وَأَبُو زُرْعَةَ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not concern himself with the affairs of the Muslims (i.e. look after them properly) is not one of them; and whoever does not pass his morning or evening as one who is sincere towards Allah Almighty, His Messenger, His Book, his appointed ruler and the Muslims in general, he too will not be counted among them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Abi Ja'far al-Razi, whom Muhammad bin Humayd declared da'if (weak), whereas Abu Hatim, Abu Zur'ah and Ibn Hibban declared him trustworthy.

وَعَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيِّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ ، فَدَعَانِي فَقَالَ : " لَا أَقْبَلُ مِنْكَ حَتَّى تُبَايِعَ عَلَى النُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " فَبَايَعْتُهُ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرُ هَذَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرُ هَذَا .

Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah al-Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When I turned to go back, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me and said: "I will not accept (this pledge) from you until you pledge to show sincere goodwill to every Muslim." The narrator says: So I pledged allegiance to him on this as well.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: From him (i.e. Sayyiduna Jarir, may Allah be pleased with him) a hadith is narrated in the "Sahih" other than this one. Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and its chain is hasan (good).
