وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : لَمَّا هَاجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَرْكَبُ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ رِدْفُهُ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْرِفُ فِي الطَّرِيقِ لِاخْتِلَافِهِ بِالشَّامِ فَكَانَ يَمُرُّ بِالْقَوْمِ ، فَيَقُولُونَ : مَنْ هَذَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : هَذَا يَهْدِينِي ، فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ بَعَثَ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُوا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى أَبِي أُمَامَةَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ ، فَخَرَجُوا إِلَيْهِمَا ، فَقَالُوا : ادْخُلَا آمِنِينَ مُطَاعِينَ ، فَدَخَلَا - فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ - . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) emigrated, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was seated behind him. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) knew the route, because he used to travel back and forth to Syria. Whenever he passed by people, they would ask: "Who is this in front of you?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) would reply: "He is guiding me." When they drew near Madinah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent word to the Muslims of the Ansar, that is, he sent word to Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions. They came out to the two of them and said: "Enter, the two of you, in a state of safety and of being obeyed." So the two of them entered (that area). After this, the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.
