Sayyidah Salma bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her), who is among the maternal relatives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who prayed behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) facing both qiblahs, and who belonged to Banu Adi bin al-Najjar, narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and gave him the pledge of allegiance along with some women of the Ansar. He laid down the condition for us that we would not associate anyone with Allah, we would not steal, we would not commit fornication, we would not kill our children, we would not bring forth a slander invented by ourselves, and we would not disobey him in what is good. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And do not deceive your husbands." The narrating woman says: We gave him the pledge, and when we went back, I said to one of those women: "Go back and ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) what is meant by deceiving the husband." That woman says: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, and he said: "That the woman takes her husband's wealth and gives it to someone else."
Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
