Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 967

Abd al-Malik bin Rashid narrates: I heard Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him), the Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when most people were saying: "The decree will come at a hundred", meaning that the Resurrection would come in the year 100 AH. Sayyiduna al-Miqdam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "You have gone too far. It will not be that Allah Almighty does not grant this Ummah even half a day", by which he meant 500 years.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, and he is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals the source of a narration).
