وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَايَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَتْ سَوْدَاءَ .
قُلْتُ : لِجَابِرٍ فِي السُّنَنِ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ بَيْضَاءَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِ الْكَبِيرِ شَرِيكٌ النَّخَعِيُّ وَثَّقَهُ النَّسَائِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The small flag of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was black. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: In the Sunan, from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him),
this report is transmitted that it was white.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in all three books. In the chain of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir is Sharik al-Nakha'i, whom al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
