وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : كَانَتْ رَايَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - سَوْدَاءَ وَلِوَاؤُهُ أَبْيَضَ ، مَكْتُوبٌ عَلَيْهِ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ .
قُلْتُ : رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ خَلَا الْكِتَابَةَ عَلَيْهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ حَيَّانُ وَتَقَدَّمَ الْكَلَامُ عَلَيْهِ ، تَرَاهُ قَبْلُ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The small flag of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was black and his large flag was white, on which was written: La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah (There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah). (Allamah Haythami says:) I say:
