Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Bedouins were the boldest of people in asking the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) questions. Once a Bedouin came to him and asked: "O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour come?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him no answer. He (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the mosque and offered a brief prayer, then he turned towards the Bedouin and said: "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If this man lives out his natural lifespan, not one of you will remain alive (by that time)." Abu Ya'la recorded it. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: In the "Sahih" this narration is reported from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): "If this one lives until he completes his natural lifespan, the Hour will be established before he dies."
This narration is clearer, even though its chain contains a narrator, Sufyan bin Waki', and he is da'if (weak).
