وَعَنْ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ دَجَاجَةَ قَالَ : دَخَلَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ : أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَقُولُ : لَا يَأْتِي مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ وَعَلَى الْأَرْضِ عَيْنٌ تَطْرِفُ ؟ إِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ وَعَلَى الْأَرْضِ عَيْنٌ تَطْرِفُ مِمَّنْ هُوَ حَيٌّ الْيَوْمَ ، وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ رَخَاءَ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بَعْدَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Nu'aym bin Dajajah narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud Uqbah bin Amr al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Are you the one who says that when 100 years have passed, no eye on the face of the earth will blink (that is, no one will remain alive)? Rather, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'When one hundred years have passed, none of the people who are alive today will remain alive.'" (Then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said:) "By Allah! After one hundred years have passed, ease (or prosperity) will come to this Ummah."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it (each in his Musnad) and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
