وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَنْ أَجْرِ الرِّبَاطِ فَقَالَ : " مَنْ رَابَطَ يَوْمًا حَرَسًا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ مِمَّنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the reward of standing guard, and he said: "Whoever stands guard for one day to protect the Muslims from beyond them receives a reward like that of those behind him who fast and pray."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
