بَابٌ فِيمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ

وَعَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ : مُقَامُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الصَّفِّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَبَلَغَ - أَخْطَأَ أَوْ أَصَابَ - فَبِعِتْقِ رَقَبَةٍ ، وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ يُوسُفُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّمْتِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A man's standing in the rank in the way of Allah is better for him than this world and everything in it. Whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah and it reaches (the target), whether it hits or misses, it is like freeing a slave. And whoever grows old in the way of Allah (that is, his hair turns grey), it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, who is da'if (weak).
