وَعَنْ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَمَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ إِلَّا أَنَّ سَالِمَ بْنَ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ مُعَاذًا .

Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever's hair turns grey in Islam, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, Allah Almighty records a rank for him because of it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Salim bin Abi al-Ja'd did not meet Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
