عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَوْقُوفًا قَالَ فِي قَوْلِهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - ( أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ) قَالَ : جَوْدَةُ الْخَطِّ .
Tabarani recorded this in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) as a mawquf report (a saying of the Companion). Regarding the saying of Allah Almighty: "Or a remnant of knowledge," Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "It refers to fine handwriting."
