وَعَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ حُجْرَ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ حِينَ أَخَذَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ يَقُولُ : هَذِهِ بَيْعَتِي لَا أُقِيلُهَا وَلَا أَسْتَقِيلُهَا سَمَاعَ اللَّهِ وَالنَّاسِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Abu Ishaq narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Hujr bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) when Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) seized him, saying: "This is my pledge of allegiance; I am neither revoking it nor asking to be released from it, and Allah Almighty hears this and the people hear it too."
