Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9093

Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The one who listens and obeys, there will be no argument against him; and the one who listens and disobeys, there will be no argument in his favour."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith. Abdullah says: My father drew a line through this addition, and I do not know whether he read it to me or not. The narrators of both reports are the narrators of the Sahih, except Jablah bin Atiyyah, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
