Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9073

In one narration the wording is: "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'There is no ruler who spends the night while deceiving his subjects but that Allah Almighty will forbid Paradise to him, even though its fragrance will be perceived on the Day of Resurrection from a distance of seventy years.'" Al-Tabarani recorded all of these narrations from his teacher Thabit bin Nu'aym al-Hawji, and I do not know them. The remaining narrators of the first chain are thiqat (trustworthy), and the second chain contains Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Mughaffal, and I do not know him.
