بَابٌ فِيمَنِ احْتَجَبَ عَنْ ذَوِي الْحَاجَةِ .

Majma al-Zawaid 9065 — One who shuts himself off from people in need
عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ شَيْئًا فَاحْتَجَبَ عَنْ أُولِي الضَّعَفَةِ وَالْحَاجَةِ ، احْتَجَبَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes charge of anything of the affairs of the people and then keeps himself screened from the weak and the needy, Allah Almighty will screen Himself from him on the Day of Resurrection."
