Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rulers will be from Quraysh. The righteous of Quraysh will be the rulers of the righteous among the people, and the wicked of Quraysh will be the rulers of the wicked among the people. Everyone has a right, so give every one who has a right his due. If a mutilated Abyssinian slave, whose nose and ears have been cut off, is appointed as your ruler, then listen to him and obey, as long as he does not give any one of you the choice between keeping his Islam or being killed. When he gives a person the choice between keeping his Islam or being killed, then the man should stretch out his neck. May his mother lose him! Once his religion has gone, neither this world nor the Hereafter will benefit him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher Hafs bin Umar bin al-Sabbah al-Raqqi. Al-Hakim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: He narrated more than one hadith in which he was not corroborated.
