بَابُ الْخِلَافَةِ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَالنَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لَهُمْ .

وَعَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ : سَمِعَتْ أُذُنَايَ وَوَعَى قَلْبِي مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " النَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ ، صَالِحُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِصَالِحِهِمْ وَشِرَارُهُمْ تَبَعٌ لِشِرَارِهِمْ " .
رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ عِنْدَ الْجُمْهُورِ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ عِنْدَ الْجُمْهُورِ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My ears heard this, and my heart preserved it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) "The people will follow Quraysh: the righteous among the people will follow their righteous, and the wicked among the people will follow their wicked."
Abdullah bin Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Jabir al-Yamami, who is da'if (weak) according to the majority, though he has also been declared trustworthy.
