Sayyidah Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered the women of the believers for the pledge of allegiance. Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Will you not extend your blessed hand to us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "I do not shake hands with women; I will take the pledge from them (without shaking hands)." (The narrator says:) Among the women was my maternal aunt, who was wearing two gold bracelets and gold rings. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "O woman! Would you like Allah Almighty to adorn you on the Day of Resurrection with two bracelets and rings made of the embers of Hell?" The woman said: "O Prophet of Allah! I seek refuge in Allah." Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said: "O aunt, take off the jewellery you are wearing," and the woman took it off. (The narrator says:) Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) told me: "By Allah, O my son! I put it down, and I do not know who took it from its place; none of us turned to look at it." Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! If one of us women does not make herself attractive and wear jewellery for her husband, she loses favour with her husband." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no harm for any one of you women if she takes two rings made of silver and two pearls (that is, beads) made of silver, and then rubs saffron over it with her fingertips; they will then shine like gold."
Ahmad and Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains the narrator Shahr bin Hawshab, who is da'if (weak), though his hadith is written down.
