وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا تُفْتَحُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا يَلْبَسُونَ إِلَّا الدِّيبَاجَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ مُعَتِّبٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, the drought has devoured us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The world will be opened up for you, and alas, my Ummah will then wear nothing but brocade (dibaj)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ubaydah bin Mu'attib, who is matruk (abandoned).
