وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ أَنْ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ فَقَالَ : " غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ أَخْوَفُ لِي عَلَيْكُمْ ، أَنْ تُصَبَّ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى أُمَّتِي صَبًّا فَلَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا يَلْبَسُونَ الْحَرِيرَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ رَاوٍ لَمْ يُسَمَّ ، وَالْمَسْعُودِيُّ اخْتَلَطَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, the drought has devoured us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Something other than that is what I fear for you: that the world will be poured out upon my Ummah; and would that my Ummah did not wear silk."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator who is not named, and a narrator, al-Mas'udi, who had become confused (in his memory). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
