وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ : رُبَّمَا صَبَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - رِدَاءَهُ وَإِزَارَهُ بِزَعْفَرَانٍ أَوْ وَرْسٍ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فِيهِمَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ مِنْ رِوَايَةٍ رَكِيحٍ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَقَدْ ذَكَرَ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ رَكِيحًا فِي الثِّقَاتِ ، وَذَكَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي تَرْجَمَتِهِ فَلَا أَدْرِي حَكَمَ بِصِحَّتِهِ أَمْ لَا ، وَلَمْ يَتَعَرَّضْ لِبَقِيَّةِ رِجَالِهِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .

Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would have his upper wrap and lower garment dyed with saffron or wars, and then he would go out wearing them.
Al-Tabarani recorded it as a narration of Rakih bin Abi Ubaydah from his father. Ibn Hibban mentioned Rakih in his book al-Thiqat and mentioned this hadith in his biography; I do not know whether he judged it to be sahih or not. He did not address the rest of its narrators. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
