وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ - أَحْسَبُهُ رَفَعَهُ - : " أَنْ رَجُلًا كَانَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ فَتَبَخْتَرَ وَاخْتَالَ فِيهَا فَخَسَفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) (the narrator says: I think) reports this as a marfu' hadith (from the Prophet): "A man was wearing a red suit (hullah) and was strutting in it arrogantly, so Allah Almighty caused the earth to swallow him, and he will keep sinking into it until the Day of Resurrection."
